Saturday deadline for voter registration

The deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 4 general election is Saturday [Oct. 4].

“Every Mississippian should be registered to vote,” says Secretary Delbert Hosemann. “This is a privilege that comes at the cost of countless men and women who have given their lives for our Country. You can honor their sacrifice by registering to vote today.”

Each Circuit Clerk’s Office will be open from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday to accept voter registration forms. Mail-in voter registration forms must be postmarked by Saturday too.

Voters are required by law to register at least 30 days prior to an election day. Voter registration applications submitted after Oct. 4 will be processed by the Circuit Clerk, but the voter will not be eligible to cast a ballot in the Nov. 4 general election.

Eligible military and overseas voters are given an extended registration period in Mississippi. The deadline for our military and overseas voters to register to vote is Oct. 25.

Registration forms are available at your local Circuit Clerk’s office. You may also download an application from the Secretary of State’s website at www.sos.ms.gov.
