STARKVILLE, Miss.--Aramark Dining Services at Mississippi State University has been named "Employer of the Year" by the Rehabilitation Association of Mississippi.
The award honors the company's commitment to promoting employment for persons with disabilities, an accomplishment achieved in partnership with the Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Service's AbilityWorks program. AbilityWorks subcontracts with companies such as Aramark, helping assist the disabled with employment.
"Our partnership with AbilityWorks has been an outstanding success," said Jason Nall, resident district manager for Aramark. "We're proud of the results and are committed to helping our Starkville community thrive."
The rehabilitation association's "Employer of the Year" recipient is selected by organization board members from a nominee pool. The award is given to the individual, firm or group of employers who best promote employment for persons with disabilities above and beyond what is required by local, state or federal laws.
The state chapter is part of the National Rehabilitation Association, which promotes ethical and state-of-the-art practice in rehabilitation with the goal of personal and economic independence for persons with disabilities.
Aramark Food Services, which provides food and support services to more than 400 colleges and universities nationwide, has managed MSU's dining services since 2007.
