MERIDIAN, Miss.--A popular seminar about choosing financial stocks will once again be made available by a Mississippi State retired accounting professor whose investments made more than $1 million over a 10-year period.
Paul Allen, an MSU-Meridian professor emeritus, will host his seminar, "Choose Stocks Wisely," on July 31 from 4-6 p.m. at MSU's Downtown Campus computer lab.
Allen hosted his first seminar in December for those interested in learning how to use the investing strategy he outlines in his recently published book "Choose Stocks Wisely: A Formula That Produced Amazing Returns." His investment choices enabled him to take $50,000 in 2003 and grow it to more than $1.3 million by 2013.
Open to the general public, the cost of the seminar is $25 and advanced registration by July 29 is required. Participants also must have a copy of Allen's book, which will be available for sale on site for $15. The book was published in October 2013 by CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform.
Registration forms can be picked up at MSU-Meridian's Downtown campus located at 2212 5th Street or email Stacy Parkes at sparkes@meridian.msstate.edu. For more information call 601-484-0150.
Allen is a CPA who spent 25 years teaching accounting as well as finance courses at MSU-Meridian. Officially retired from the university in June 2010, Allen can still be found in the classroom teaching one or two accounting courses each semester.
