History and genealogy enthusiasts are invited to attend an all-day event hosted by Mississippi State's Mitchell Memorial Library next month.

The E.O. Templeton History and Genealogy Fair will be held Saturday, June 7 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will feature a variety of sessions, workshops and research opportunities. This year's fair also will include the naming of the genealogical collection in memory of E.O Templeton and his dedicated support of genealogy and history.

Registration check-in will begin at 9 a.m. in the auditorium on the first floor of Mitchell Memorial Library. Featured presenters include Columbus-Lowndes Public Library archivist Mona Vance, former interim president of MSU Roy Ruby, and MSU Libraries Special Collections librarian DeeDee Baldwin. Sessions on preservation, local history and virtual resources will highlight the day's events. Tours of the Ulysses S. Grant Presidential Library, Special Collections, library exhibits and genealogical resources will round out the day.

Resources including microfilm machines, online databases and assistance from librarians in genealogy research will be available to attendees. Those interested in one-on-one assistance with specific research problems should bring documentation regarding their research.

Registration for the E.O. Templeton History and Genealogy Fair is free. Box lunches will be available for $8 and should be reserved before noon on June 4.
