Shortened hours set in advance of Thursday crowds

The university will allow non-critical staff to leave campus at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, in anticipation of the large crowds expected on campus for the MSU-Auburn game.

Chief of Police Georgia Lindley was concerned about the possible traffic congestion and public safety issues had the university not decided to release staff early.

All MSU functions, including classes, will operate as normal until 2 p.m. It is anticipated that some number of classes will continue after 2 p.m., as faculty have the option to continue with classes if desired.

Previously announced parking will be available for faculty members in the East Allen Hall parking lot, and for students in non-reserved parking off of Hardy Road and Buckner Lane.
