MSU announces leaders for 2010 student orientation programs

STARKVILLE, Miss.--Twenty top students are leaders of the 2010 orientation programs at Mississippi State.

Working with the Office of Admissions and Scholarships, team members provide assistance and share their knowledge of the university with incoming freshmen and transfer students--and their parents--during various registration and information sessions.

Selection of orientation leaders involves a rigorous screening process; more than 70 students applied for the positions this year.

The new MSU Orientation Leaders include (by hometown):

BRENTWOOD, Tenn.--Sophomore Bradley S. Hollinger, a risk management, insurance and financial planning major. He is a 2008 Brentwood High School graduate and the son of Bruce and Leigh Hollinger.

CHARLESTON--Junior broadcast meteorology major Joel T. Young, a 2007 Charleston High School graduate and the son of Joe and Joanne Young.

COLUMBUS--Junior educational psychology major Aarsenio D. Perry, a 2007 Columbus High School graduate and the son of J.P. Jr. and Diane Perry.

DECATUR, Ala.--Junior marketing and sports communication major Shelley R. Pensworth, a 2007 Austin High School graduate and the daughter of Pam Pensworth and Bill Pensworth.

HURLEY--Sophomore biochemistry major Jacquelyn K. Brochard, a 2008 East Central High School graduate and the daughter of Glen and Gretchen Brochard.

JACKSON--Sophomore clinical exercise physiology major Martha Ann Allen, a 2008 Jackson Preparatory School graduate and the daughter of David and Carolyn Allen [ZIP 39211].

JACKSON, Tenn.--Sophomore English major Victoria Y. Mayhall, a 2008 Madison Academic Magnet High School graduate and the daughter of Shannon and Penny Mayhall.

MADISON--Sophomore biological sciences major Stanley E. Blackmon, a 2008 Murrah High School graduate and the son of Stanley and Gloria Blackmon.

MEMPHIS, Tenn.--Sophomore biological sciences major Adam N. Cassella, a 2008 Germantown High School graduate and the son of Nicholas and Suzanne Cassella [ZIP 38017], and sophomore communication major Taryn E. Smith, a 2008 White Station High School graduate and the daughter of Michael and Candace Smith [ZIP 38118].

MURFREESBORO, Tenn.--Sophomore sports communication major Jonathan K. Barden, a 2008 Riverdale High School graduate and the son of Bill and Sandy Rogers.

OXFORD--Sophomore Margaret "Meg" Swindoll, a clinical exercise physiology/pre-physical therapy major. She is a 2008 Oxford High School graduate and the daughter of Arliss and Debbie Swindoll.

PHILADELPHIA--Junior secondary education major Dekota B. Anthony, a 2007 Neshoba Central High School graduate and the daughter of John and Renee Anthony.

REDINGTON BEACH, Fla.--Sophomore communication/public relations major Summerly S. Brown, a 2008 Shorecrest Preparatory School graduate and the daughter of Michael A. Brown and Melody Lake Brown.

RIDGELAND--Sophomore biological sciences major Nnedi P. Ezeala-Harrison, a 2008 Ridgeland High School graduate and the daughter of Fidelis and Agnes Ezeala-Harrison.

RIPLEY--Junior finance and risk management major Anna V. Shelton, a 2007 Ripley High School graduate and the daughter of David and Elizabeth Shelton.

SPRING, Texas--Sophomore Lia M. Singleton, a human sciences/food science, nutrition and health promotion major. She is a 2008 Klein High School graduate and the daughter of Michael and Cindy Singleton.

STARKVILLE--Junior Robin N. Kirby, a human sciences/apparel, textile and merchandising major. She is a 2007 Starkville High School graduate and the daughter of Robert and Valerie Kirby.

TUPELO--Sophomore management major Luke H. West, a 2008 South Pontotoc High School graduate and the son of Joseph and Angie West, and junior English major Daniel R. Wynn, a 2007 Tupelo High School graduate and the son of Barton and Beth Wynn.
