A Jackson senior at Mississippi State is receiving a $600 scholastic award in recognition of his achievements in photography.
Joshua B. Hailey is the 2003 selection for the university art department's Michael Ashley DuBoise Memorial Scholarship, which is available only to MSU art majors specializing in photography.
Students seeking the award must complete an essay outlining future goals and ways an MSU education will assist in their realization. Applicants also must submit a portfolio of 10 matted photographic images, with the winning entries being incorporated into the department's permanent collection.
