STARKVILLE, Miss.--Mississippi State's online Master of Business Administration program is listed No. 26 in the just-released SuperScholar.org rankings.
The 2015 Smart Choice Best Online MBA ranking is designed to help students find quality online MBA programs like those at the university that best fit their needs.
Celebrating its centennial in 2015, MSU's College of Business is among the South's oldest. Earlier this year, its MBA online and on-campus programs also were ranked in the U.S. News and World Report's Top 100, and the distance program was listed at No. 16 as the "Best Online Graduate Business Program for Veterans."
Data for the new SCBO ranking was collected on every distance program in the United States accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, as well as those regionally accredited. According to the editors, the comprehensive list is based on factors mattering most to students, including scheduling, budget and potential for earnings and career advancement.
"We were an early adapter to distance education in the MBA program, and the strength of our program is a tribute to the outstanding faculty who teach in it," college Dean Sharon Oswald said of the recognition.
Oswald noted that MSU's 30-credit distance MBA program "is 100-percent online" and gives students the option of a general degree or one with a project management emphasis. She also emphasized that it operates with extremely high standards of admission, academic rigor and retention.
In addition to the USN&WR and SCBO rankings, the Geteducated.com website includes Mississippi State on its "Best Buy" list for online MBAs that are AACSB accredited.
