A preliminary round of the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) will take place at Mississippi State on Wednesday [Nov. 19] with the final round set for Thursday [Nov. 20] from 2:30-4:30 p.m. in Colvard Student Union's Fowlkes Auditorium.
The exercise challenges research higher degree students to present a compelling oration on their thesis topic and its significance in just three minutes. 3MT develops academic, presentation and research communication skills and supports the development of research students' capacity to effectively explain their research in language appropriate to a non-specialist audience. The competition forces students to consolidate their ideas and crystalize their research discoveries.
