A Mississippi Delta native is the new development director for Mississippi State University's oldest academic unit.
Judson H. Skelton, born and raised in the Washington County community of Winterville, now leads fund-raising efforts for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. He succeeds Jack McCarty, who left earlier this year to join Ducks Unlimited.
"We're pleased to have someone in this position from a strong Delta background with deep roots in agriculture and longtime ties to Mississippi State," said Richard Armstrong, executive director of development for the MSU Foundation. "We believe his background will allow Jud to achieve great things for the College of Agriculture."
Skelton is a 1998 MSU business administration graduate. He also holds a master's degree in business administration from Millsaps College.
Prior to returning to MSU, he held a management position for two years with Bryan Foods Inc. of West Point, a division of the national Sara Lee Corp.
