STARKVILLE, Miss.-- Senior psychology and political science/pre-law double-major Katharine A. "Katie" McCummins of Long Beach reigns next week as Homecoming Queen at Mississippi State University.

McCummins, the daughter of Robert and Christine McCummins, recently was chosen in campus-wide elections. She and eight maids will be presented formally during halftime Saturday [Nov. 8] of the MSU-Tennessee Martin football game in Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field. Seniors Jonathan D. Lancaster of Jackson, and Haley V. Grantham of Star are this year's Mr. and Miss MSU. They also were selected in the voting and will be introduced during the halftime ceremonies.

Lancaster is a senior accounting major and the son of David and Amy Lancaster. Grantham is a senior political science/pre-law major and the daughter of Alfred and Becky Grantham.

Each undergraduate class is represented by two maids. The 2014 homecoming court includes:

SENIOR--Mary Gates Talbot of Nesbit and Alissa A. McKinnon of Greenville. Talbot is a management and marketing double-major and the daughter of Edward and Suzanne Talbot; McKinnon is a communication/public relations and foreign language/Spanish double-major and the daughter of Brian and Jennifer McKinnon.

JUNIOR--Jaslyn B. Langford of Calhoun City and Kelsey B. Jones of Madison. Langford is a biological sciences/pre-medicine major and the daughter of John and Lisa Langford; Jones is a food science, nutrition and health promotion/food and nutrition major and the daughter of Wolsey and Nancy Jones.

SOPHOMORE--Anna Claire Allison of Ocean Springs and Chloe D. Sullivan of Franklin, Tennessee. Allison is a biological sciences/pre-medicine major and the daughter of Mabry and Stephanie Allison; Sullivan is a pre-accounting major and the daughter of Kelvin Sullivan and Phyllis Harwell.

FRESHMAN--Carrie L. Gammon of Lithia, Florida and Bell Hester of Starkville. Gammon is a kinesiology/clinical exercise physiology major and the daughter of Bruce and Tracy Gammon; Hester is a biological sciences/pre-medicine major and the daughter of Richard and Felisha Hester.
