STARKVILLE, Miss.--The head of Mississippi State's political science and public administration department is a new top officer of the American Political Science Association.
K.C. Morrison recently became secretary of the Washington, D.C.-based organization working to promote scholarly research and quality teaching, among other goals.
Morrison, originally from Edwards, is an honors graduate of Tougaloo College, and he earned his master's and doctoral degrees at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The MSU professor also serves as a senior associate for African-American Studies at the university.
"I look forward to assisting the executive team of the association in strengthening the enterprise of political science," Morrison said at his appointment. "I am interested in assisting the organization in giving voice to all sectors of the profession's membership and providing space for the expansion of political science inquiry in new areas."
