STARKVILLE, Miss.--Mississippi State's first True Maroon Week closes Saturday [Nov. 16] with a 3:30 p.m. public ceremony rededicating one of the university's oldest class memorials.
"The Bull Ring," a D-shaped public seating area originally provided to the institution by members of its Class of 1933, is located in front of the Colvard Student Union. Formal re-opening of the much-improved and enhanced structure will include remarks by MSU President Mark E. Keenum, former Holland Faculty Senate President Hart Bailey and Rhett Hobart, the 2012 Student Association president whose class restored the landmark as its gift to the university.
"This is a great opportunity for students to be involved and informed in the preservation of Mississippi State's history and traditions," said current Student Association President Michael Hogan of Memphis, Tenn.
"The ceremony is a chance for the student body to thank all the supporters of this initiative, while also highlighting the importance of student involvement on the campus of MSU," he added.
