STARKVILLE, Miss.--Mary L. Vaughn, assistant director in Assessment and Testing Services at Mississippi State, is being honored with the 2013 Service Recognition Award of the National College Testing Association.
Vaughn has served the NCTA as leader of the organization's Marketing Committee, and has contributed significantly to the organization's governing board and Conference and Awards committees.
"It was such an honor to receive this award from a professional organization, and I have enjoyed the work Iʼve done with the NCTA," Vaughn said of the recognition.
The NCTA represents some 1,900 members at more than 650 institutions and 55 corporations. It is the world's largest group dedicated to the establishment, recognition and promotion of professional testing standards and practices.
Vaughn is a 2000 MSU management information systems graduate who went on to receive a masterʼs degree in instructional technology the following year. She currently is completing an MSU doctoral degree in technology education.
MSU's Assessment and Testing Services offers a variety of standardized exams in computer-based and traditional paper-based options. The office also aids MSU Student Affairs departments in assessing effectiveness of programs and services provided.
