STARKVILLE, Miss.--Instead of arriving on campus Sept. 17 as initially planned, Mississippi State's Maroon Edition author will visit the university on Nov. 14.
Physicist Richard A. Muller, author of this year's common reading experience selection, "Physics for Future Presidents: The Science Behind the Headlines," will still lead two campus programs in Colvard Student Union's Bill R. Foster Ballroom. Both are free and open to the public.
The first, "Global Warming--Is It Real? What Causes It? What, If Anything, Can We Do?"--will be held at 3:30 p.m., while the second--"Physics for Future Presidents: The Science Behind the Headlines"--will be held at 6:30 p.m.
"Due to an unforseen scheduling issue we have had to reschedule professor Muller's campus visit from Sept. 17 to Nov. 14," said Lynn Reinschmiedt, Maroon Edition consultant at MSU's Center for Teaching and Learning. "We apologize for this inconvenience."
Muller, a University of California at Berkeley professor and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory faculty senior scientist, will focus his first presentation on climate-change issues, while at the second, he will discuss the ideas and proposals presented in his book.
