MSU program to examine impact of women on boards of directo

STARKVILLE, Miss.--"The Effectiveness of Women on A Board of Directors" is the topic of a special Friday [Sept. 13] panel discussion being organized by Mississippi State's College of Business.

Free and open to all, the university program takes place 10 a.m.-noon in McCool Hall's Rogers Auditorium (Room 100).

Sponsored by the John Nutie and Edie Dowdle Endowment, the event is being organized by Jacqueline L. Garner, the college's Dowdle Professor of Finance. Panelists will include:

--Claire Crutchley, associate professor of finance at Auburn University;

--Lissa Lamkin Broome, director of the Center for Banking and Finance and Wells Fargo Professor of Banking Law at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; and

--Betty J. Simkins of Oklahoma State University's Spears School of Business, where she is the Williams Companies Professor of Business.
