Theyâve been introduced as a band with a sum that is greater than its partsâbut its individual parts are pretty incredible. Combined, the members of The Time Jumpers comprise a Western swing/bluegrass resume without parallel. Between them, they have worked with stars from every decade of country music history. On Friday, May 17, The Time Jumpers featuring Vince Gill, Dawn Sears, Kenny Sears, and Ranger Doug Green come to the MSU Riley Center as part of the 2013 Jimmie Rodgers Festival. The performance is at 7:30 p.m.
This extraordinarily talented group of Nashville studio musicians began picking together in the 1990s as a casual jam session. Now theyâve been traveling the country for more than a decade, receiving rave reviews for their classic style of Western swing. The stage may be crowded but that doesnât keep the musicians from pulling off tight arrangements, rollicking rhythms, and effortless solos. In addition to several Grammy nominations, the group is also lauded by its peers, with recognition from the Association of Western Artists and the Western music Association.
Tickets are $69 and $63 at the MSU Riley Center box office, which is open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday. Tickets can be purchased online at www.msurileycenter.com or by calling the box office at 601-696-2200.
