Symposium to address how to live 'gluten free'

A "Gluten-Free" Symposium will be held Thursday [April 11], from 7-8 p.m., in the Colvard Student Union Foster Ballroom. The event, free and open to the public, is sponsored by MSU Health Education and Wellness, Service Dawgs, Montgomery Leadership Program, and ARAMARK, the university's food service provider.

Scheduled to speak are Mandy Conrad, MSU dietitian; John Forde, Communication Department head; and Chef Dana Clemmons, ARAMARK. Light refreshments will be provided by ARAMARK.

Gluten is a protein found in wheat, barley, and rye. There is an increasing number of the population who are being diagnosed as gluten-intolerant. Gluten allergies can range from intolerance to mild sensitivities.
