PCSM hosts 'Diversity in Research' talk April 9

On Tuesday [April 9], the MSU President's Commission on the Status of Minorities will host "Diversity in Research: A Panel Discussion," from 2-4 p.m., in Colvard Student Union's Foster Ballroom (section U). This event is open to all, and refreshments will be provided.

A panel of MSU faculty and administrators has been assembled to discuss the components of successful research activity. This discussion will focus on topics such as building teams, funding opportunities, collaboration across disciplines, and recruiting minority students into research. PCSM hopes that this event will provide a forum to encourage communication and collaboration among researchers in support of one of the core values expressed in the university's strategic plan, State of Excellence 2012-2017.

In addition to the panel discussion, MSU faculty and students are invited to
showcase any past, current or pending research on diversity related topics.
