Kappa Delta Pi holds initiation ceremony

The Theta Chi Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi education honor society will hold an initiation ceremony at 6 p.m. Tuesday [April 23]. The event will take place at the Chapel of Memories and will recognize outstanding academic achievement in the field of education.

Kappa Delta Pi's goal is to recognize academic achievement and commitment to education. The organization is the largest honor society in education, representing 582 undergraduate and professional chapters and more than 45,000 active members.

Its most distinguished members over the last century have included Margaret Mead, Albert Einstein, George Washington Carver, and current leaders in education Howard Gardner, Maxine Greene, and Carol Gilligan. To date, more than 1,200,000 educators have been inducted into Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society.
