Book discussion March 6: Doing Bad by Doing Good

Mississippi State University is hosting a book panel discussion on Christopher Coyne's forthcoming book, Doing Bad by Doing Good: Why Humanitarian Action Fails, on March 6 at 5:30 p.m., in Colvard Student Union's Ballroom U.

Doing Bad by Doing Good argues that an array of knowledge constraints and perverse political incentives contribute to the ongoing failure of state-led humanitarian efforts to alleviate human suffering. Three economics professors from George Mason University, including the author, and four MSU professors (Barry Barnett, Department of Agricultural Economics; Lindsey Peterson, Department of Sociology; Brian Shoup, Department of Political Science and Public Administration; Claudia Williamson, Department of Finance and Economics) will provide interdisciplinary comments on the material presented in Coyne’s Doing Bad by Doing Good.
