More than 250 Mississippi State freshmen will showcase their service-learning projects Thursday [Nov. 15] at the 2012 Day One Showcase and Celebration.
Open to all and beginning at 5:30 p.m., the program will take place in the Foster Ballroom at the university's Colvard Student Union. An awards and recognition ceremony will follow at 7:30 p.m.
Each student team participating will demonstrate their volunteer service-learning project for the fall semester. The Palmer Home for Children in Columbus, Starkville Habitat for Humanity and MSU's T.K. Martin Center for Technology and Disability, as well as several elementary schools and family centers, are among local and area organizations that have benefited from the work of Day One participants.
