STARKVILLE, Miss.--A Pennsylvania-based media company that works to support all U.S. military members reentering civilian life is again including Mississippi State University in its 2013 Military Friendly Schools list.
The recognition by Victory Media honors the top 15 percent of U.S. colleges, universities, and trade schools that "are doing the most to embrace America's military service members, veterans, and spouses as students and ensure their success on campus."
Founded in 2001 and led by veterans, the Pittsburg company owns and operates five global brands: G.I. Jobs, G.I. Education, NaVOBA, Vetrepreneur, and Military Spouse.

"Inclusion on the 2013 list of Military Friendly Schools shows Mississippi State University's commitment to providing a supportive environment for military students," said company vice president Sean Collins. "As interest in education grows, we're thrilled to provide the military community with resources to assist in their search for schools."
Collins said the annual list is compiled through extensive research and a data-driven survey of more than 12,000 schools nationwide. Schools included in the list exhibit leading practices in the recruitment and retention of students with military experience," he added.
Ken McRae, director of the G.V. "Sonny" Montgomery Center for America's Veterans, said MSU is "honored to again be recognized by G.I. Jobs and Victory Media as a top military friendly school."
He attributed the recognition "to the impassioned work of our staff, our extremely supportive university administration and a hard-working student veteran population."
