Mississippi State students will shake hands and share résumés with employer representatives from around the country this week as the university hosts its annual fall career fair.

The number of participants for the two-day event is on the upswing, according to the director of the MSU Career Center and cooperative education program.

"More than 140 employers have signed up, and that is a 17 percent increase in employer participation over last year," Scott Maynard said.

The Business and Non-Technical Career Day takes place Tuesday [Sept. 25] with the Engineering and Technical Career Day following on Wednesday [Sept. 26]. Activities are held in Humphrey Coliseum from noon to 4 p.m.

MSU students, as well as alumni of the land-grant institution, will be able to explore co-op, intern and full-time opportunities with local, state and national businesses and organizations, Maynard said.

He reminds students to dress professionally and bring copies of their résumé.
