The MSU Campus-Community Emergency Response Team (C-CERT) and the Maroon Volunteer Center are hosting an emergency/disaster readiness program titled PREP (Personal Readiness and Emergency Preparation) on July 13, from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., in Bost Extension Center. The free program is open to all members of the university, and Starkville and Oktibbeha County communities.
Representatives from MSU Extension, Mississippi Department of Health, Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce, OSERVS, Red Cross, Oktibbeha County Hospital, and the Starkville Fire Department will offer training on a number of topics including evacuation planning, disaster preparedness kits and communication plans, basic first aid, care for animals, children, elderly (in times of disaster), local preparation and recovery recourses, and much more.
