MSU Homecoming 2011 offers fun events for everyone

STARKVILLE, Miss.--Mississippi State students, employees and families throughout the community have a week of fun-filled opportunities beginning Monday [Oct. 30] as the university heads to its 2011 Homecoming celebration Friday and Saturday [Nov. 4 and 5].

"With Praise Our Voices Ring" is the theme for this year's activities. Official homecoming posters and T-shirts are on sale at the Barnes & Noble at Mississippi State Bookstore, with artwork designed by senior art major Anne Katherine Phipps of Saltillo.

Friday, Nov. 4

--5 p.m., Homecoming parade through campus, launching on College View Street adjacent to Aiken Village campus housing. (Little Bully's Walk participants to meet at Hunter Henry Center at 4:30 p.m.)

--5:30, Dawg Rally at the Junction, to begin as the parade concludes.

--6 p.m., Bulldog Family Frenzy, at the MSU Amphitheater.

--7:30 p.m., Homecoming Choral Concert featuring the Men of State, Women's and University Chorales, and the State Singers, Starkville First Baptist Church, Lampkin Street downtown.

Saturday, Nov. 5

--9 a.m., MSU Libraries book sale, Mitchell Memorial Library.

--6:30 p.m., MSU-University of Tennessee-Martin football game, Scott Field at Davis Wade Stadium.
