STARKVILLE, Miss.--Senior communication major Fenley Akers of Vicksburg is reigning this week as Homecoming Queen at Mississippi State University.

Akers, who is specializing in public relations, recently was selected in campus elections. She and the eight class maids will be presented formally during halftime Saturday [Nov. 5] of the MSU-University of Tennessee at Martin football game in Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field. Seniors Rhett Hobart of Greenville and Laura C. Touchstone of Meridian, the 2011-12 Mr. and Miss MSU, also were selected in the voting and also will be introduced during the ceremonies.

Hobart, this year's Student Association president, is a communication/public relations major. Touchstone, a human sciences/apparel, textiles and merchandising major, is an Orientation Leader, the group of top students working closely with the Division of Student Affairs and its Office of Admissions and Scholarships.

Each undergraduate class is represented by two maids. Those chosen include:

SENIOR--Emily D. Hayes of Columbus and Anne Eastland Vickery of Jackson. Hayes is a human sciences/human development and family studies major; Vickery, a communication/public relations major.

JUNIOR--Daltria T. Li of Clarksdale and Katherine E. "Katie Beth" Walton of Grenada. Li is a biochemistry/pre-dental major; Walton, a communication/public relations major.

SOPHOMORE--Myra L. "Lindi" Morgan of Madison and Maribeth Russell of Collierville, Tenn. Morgan is an educational psychology major; Russell, an elementary education major.

FRESHMAN--Mari Micci Bramuchi of Cleveland and McKenzie C. Jones of Columbus. Bramuchi is majoring in biological sciences; Jones, in liberal arts.
