STARKVILLE, Miss.--High school and community college students are being invited to Mississippi State later this month for the university's annual Music Discovery Day.
The Nov. 23 event is open to all potential future students interested in learning more about music department programs. Parents also are encouraged to attend.
Nov. 16 is the deadline for registration, which may be completed online by clicking the appropriate link at http://music.msstate.edu. A $5 registration fee will be payable during the 8:15-9 a.m. check-in process.
During a series of programs concluding at 5 p.m., participants will have the opportunity to meet with departmental faculty members, hear campus ensemble performances and observe selected classes and rehearsals. Faculty presentations will provide specific information on audition preparation, university-level music education requirements and various post-graduation career options.
Representatives of the Office of Admissions and Scholarships also will be on hand to discuss the application processes for university enrollment and financial aid.
