STARKVILLE, Miss.--A public unveiling Saturday [Sept. 6] at Mississippi State of a life-size bronze sculpture of "Bully," the university mascot, takes place at 3:15 p.m. at The Junction. Eupora artist Edmond Shumpert used "Tatonka," the current Bully, as a model for the permanent display near the Stone Boulevard-Creelman Street intersection. Shumpert will be in attendance, and Interim President Vance Watson and athletic director Greg Byrne will speak during the brief program. An original sculpture previously at the location was on loan from the MSU Student Association and has been returned to its traditional location in front of the Colvard Student Union. The ceremony precedes the 6 p.m. home football game between MSU and Southeastern Louisiana University at nearby Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field.
