STARKVILLE, Miss.--Graduates of Mississippi State's classes of 1941, 1946, 1951, 1956, and 1981 will be recognized April 7 and 8 during the university's 2006 Super Bulldog Weekend.
"Like our currently enrolled students, our alumni are a cornerstone of Mississippi State," said Jimmy Abraham, MSU Alumni Association executive director. "Since we don't get to see our graduates as often, we work very hard to make these homecomings a special time.
"If you are a graduate of these classes who we've not been able to reach, please consider this a personal invitation to come join your former classmates and other members of the MSU family as we again celebrate the past, present and future of our 128-year-old land-grant institution," added Abraham, who also is associate vice president for external affairs.
March 31 is the registration deadline, Abraham said.
A campus welcome and open house for honored graduates will take place 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Friday, the 7th, in the Hunter Henry Center lobby. Beginning at 1:30 p.m., reunion tours will depart from the center to the new Palmeiro Center and Ruby Residence Hall, as well as the recently renovated Montgomery Hall, a National Register of Historic Places listing since 1975.
In addition, a Super Tailgate Party, open to graduates and all other campus guests, will take place 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on the historic Drill Field.
An evening reception for all reunion participants, as well as class photo sessions and a buffet dinner, also are scheduled Friday at the center.
Saturday (the 8th) programs begin with a series of individual college breakfasts held at various campus locations. Most will last about two hours.
The two days of reunion activities conclude with an 11 a.m. luncheon in the south end of the Perry Cafeteria.
