STARKVILLE, Miss.--An internationally known blues photographer and author will discuss his legendary career and display some of his famous images during an April 4 public program at Mississippi State University.

The free, special presentation featuring Dick Waterman begins at 7 p.m. in the Colvard Union's Dawg House student lounge. The Campus Activities Board is sponsoring his visit.

Waterman, an Oxford resident, remains the only non-musician or record company executive ever inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame. Although he has worked as a blues manager, agent, promoter, and producer, he is primarily known as an archivist and photographer of blues, country, rock, and jazz legends from Mississippi John Hurt to Mick Jagger to Eric Clapton.

His book, "Between Midnight and Day: The Last Unpublished Blues Archive," was released in 2003. He also produced the Mississippi Blues 2005 Wall Calendar.

In addition to a long list of popular and specialty publications, Waterman's photographs have been featured in the Godiva Gallery of Washington, D.C., and New Orleans' Gallery for Fine Photography, among others.
