STARKVILLE, MISS.--The public program to select Mississippi State's representative to the 2006 Miss Mississippi Pageant will be held Nov. 10 in the university's Colvard Union ballroom.
This year's Miss MSU Pageant begins at 7:30 p.m. General admission is $8; $5 for MSU students with identification.
Some 15 women have qualified for the annual campus event representing the first level of competition leading to the Miss America Pageant. In addition to representing Mississippi's largest institution of higher learning during the Vicksburg-based state contest each July,
Miss MSU makes numerous campus, community and statewide appearances during her yearlong reign. She also receives a tuition scholarship from the university.
In addition to talent routines of the contestants, the Thursday night pageant will feature Kristian Dambrino of Grenada, Miss Mississippi 2005, and Miss MSU 2005 Sally E. Steen of Corinth. Additional entertainment will be provided by the MSU Pom Squad and the Junior Dance Squad of Starkville's Dancing Feet Academy.
Bryan Nesbit, associate director of the university's admissions and scholarship office, will serve as master of ceremonies.
