STARKVILLE, Miss.--Eleven majors in the Mississippi State art department are receiving regional honors for graphic design and advertising achievements.

Three, including senior Misty D. Byrd of Russellville, Ala., and juniors Lindsay C. Noblin of Long Beach and Wesley Stuckey of Mt. Olive, recently took the top awards of separate competition categories in the Arkansas State University Art Director's Club student competition

Byrd won in miscellaneous and editorial; Noblin, in advertising; and Stuckey, in organized campaign. Their works were among only 30 chosen for inclusion in the exhibit from among some 150 entries submitted this year from university and college graphic design programs in Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee. In Alabama, eight MSU students collected nine of the total 11 student awards presented in the Greater Tuscaloosa Area Advertising Federation's 2005 ADDY competition.
