Suzanne Kingsbury, a former Oxford resident and the author of two novels, will read from her writings April 15 at Mississippi State University.
The 7:30 p.m. public program in the Colvard Union small auditorium is sponsored by MSU's English department and its Creative Writing Enhancement Fund, as well as the University Honors Program.
Now residing in Tucson, Ariz., Kingsbury is the author of "The Summer Fletcher Greel Loved Me" (2002) and "The Gospel According to Gracey" (2003), both critically acclaimed publications of Charles Scribner's Sons of New York. The first is set in the fictional Mississippi town of Houser Banks; the second, in contemporary Atlanta.
Kingsbury is a Maryland native who was reared in Connecticut and received her bachelor's degree from the University of New Hampshire. She currently is working on a third novel set in Panama.
