The evolving social relationships between young men and women will be examined in detail Jan. 18 at Mississippi State University.
"Creative Dating" is an award-winning presentation by David Coleman, an author and much-sought-after speaker. Sponsored by MSU's Campus Activities Board, his free public program will begin at 7 p.m. in the Colvard Union ballroom.
Coleman's discussion will cover such topics as the options and tendencies of dating and relationships, factors that inhibit or enhance relationships, and ways men and women can increase confidence in themselves and their social interaction abilities.
Coleman, a Bowling Green State University graduate in college student personnel counseling, is the author of "101 Great Dates" and co-author with Richard Doyle of "Date Smart! Stop Revolving and Start Evolving." He also has written numerous articles on these and related subjects for such publications as the Washington Post, USA Today, New York Times, and Glamour and Mademoiselle magazines, among others.
In addition to being a three-time winner of Campus Activities magazine's Reader's Choice Lecturer of the Year award, he has been honored for his self-titled role as "The Dating Doctor" by President George Bush, the United States Army and the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators.
