Mississippi State's Campus Activities Board is seeking volunteers to serve as moderators, judges and scorekeepers Oct. 10 and 11 at the university's 2000 College Bowl Tournament.
Using a double-elimination format, the campus challenge will begin at 5 p.m. each day in the Colvard Union. Like the national radio and television series popular from the 1950s to the 1970s, the game features four-member teams working to score on toss-up and bonus questions covering every conceivable topic.
Students have until 5 p.m. Oct. 3 to register, with applications available at union room 118. The winning group advances to regional competition Feb. 16 and 17, which also will be held at MSU.
The Starkville school is among more than 300 institutions of higher learning taking part in the Association of College Unions International-sponsored competition, now in its 24th year.
Persons interested in volunteering for this year's MSU event are asked to telephone the CAB office as soon as possible at (662) 325-2930.
