More than 30 state librarians are bringing new electronic resources into their schools following a recent workshop at Mississippi State University.

The MegaResource School Librarian Workshop was sponsored by the MSU Libraries, technology and education department and Division of Continuing Education.

"A variety of professionals provided instruction in areas such as grant writing, desktop publishing, free reference tools available on the web, and reference resources," said Susanna J. Turner, associate dean for public service at Mitchell Memorial Library.

Databases of the Mississippi Alliance for Gaining New Opportunities through Library Information Access--MAGNOLIA--were among resources introduced to participants. The alliance was created by the Legislature in 1997 to offer its free services to all state public schools and libraries.
