Three veteran public educators will be honored Wednesday [April 19] at Mississippi State during the fifth annual Jayne Burrows Sargent Awards for Excellence Symposium.
Sponsored by the university's educational leadership department, this year's selections will be announced at a 3:30 p.m. public program in Room 20 of the MSU/National Science Foundation Engineering Research Center, located in the Mississippi Research and Technology Park.
The Sargent Awards are named in honor of the veteran Mississippi teacher and administrator now serving as Jackson Public Schools superintendent. She formerly headed the Meridian Public School System.
