A Mississippi State faculty member and more than a dozen juniors and seniors in the art department are top award winners in graphic design competition sponsored by the Golden Triangle Advertising Federation.
University professor Jamie Mixon won two gold awards and the "Best of Show" designation for a professional category design titled "New Year's Eve at the Cabin."
Senior Nikki Bane of Starkville received the Most Promising Student Award.
An American Advertising Federation affiliate, the local federation annually sponsors competition known as the Addys to showcase East Central Mississippi's best examples of print, radio and television production. This year's event drew more than 125 entries, some from as far away as Meridian and Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Area winners now advance to the regional level, where they will compete with designers from throughout Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, and Louisiana.
