Eight Mississippi State graduates from throughout the Southeast and Central United States are being honored as the university's college and school alumni of the year.
Recognized by the MSU Alumni Association for professional achievement, as well as for loyalty and service to their alma mater are:
--D. Hines Brannan of Atlanta, Ga., College of Engineering. A managing partner for Andersen Consulting, the Woodville native earned a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering in 1970 and a master's in business administration in 1971.
--Jeff K. Easterling of New Orleans, La., College of Forest Resources. Vice president of marketing for Southern Forest Products Association, the Huntsville, Ark., native is a 1980 graduate in both wood science and technology and business administration.
--Creig B. Hoskins of Homewood, Ala., School of Architecture. Associated with Giattina, Fisher, Aycock Architects Inc. of Birmingham, the Webb native is a 1985 graduate.
--Hugh W. Latimer of Brandon, College of Arts and Sciences. Recently retired as a senior vice president at Deposit Guaranty National Bank in Jackson, the Philadelphia native is a 1962 political science graduate.
--Lea Margaret McLaurin of Nashville, Tenn., College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Catering sales manager for the Opryland Hotel, she is a Hollandale native and 1980 human sciences graduate.
--Davis K. Mortensen of Fayetteville, Ga., College of Business and Industry. A retired vice president at Georgia-Pacific Corp., the Moss Point native is a 1956 industrial management graduate.
--Dr. Lanny W. Pace of Columbia, Mo., College of Veterinary Medicine. An associate professor of pathobiology and assistant director of the University of Missouri's Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory, the Baldwyn native is a 1977 animal science graduate who went on to complete a doctor of veterinary medicine degree from MSU in 1982.
--Daya S. Sandhu of Louisville, Ky., College of Education. An associate professor of educational and counseling psychology at the University of Louisville, he earned a doctorate in counselor education from MSU in 1984. He is a native of India.
