A conference jointly sponsored early next month by the state's Board of Trustees, Institutions of Higher Learning and Board for Community Colleges will introduce faculty members to the latest multimedia technologies for classroom instruction.

The March 1 and 2 workshop at the Gold Strike Hotel in Tunica will feature sessions on legal issues in information technology, online technology use in traditional classrooms, new video applications on campus networks, and Internet2, among others.

Among presenters is Bruce Chaloux, head of the Southern Regional Education Board's Electronic Campus. Mississippi State University will provide presentations on its use of streaming video and the MSU Extension Service computer network.

More than 350 faculty members from around the state attended last year's conference.

Faculty members interested in learning more or registering for the 2000 event can visit a web site at http://www.ihl.state.ms.us for more information.
