Coming timber and agricultural tax issues are the focus of special Mississippi State University seminars being sponsored in a three-state area during January.
The programs will provide in-depth examinations of major developments and the most troublesome taxation matters facing a variety of farming and forestland enterprises.
The College of Business and Industry's Division of Business Services is offering the five seminars-three in Mississippi and one each in Monroe, La., and Memphis, Tenn. MSU accounting professor Zoel W. Daughtrey will lead the presentations.
Due to the university's seasonal holiday schedule, registration for all locations must be completed by Jan. 3.
Seminar dates and locations include:
--Jan. 10, Raymond, Hinds Community College's Eagle Ridge Conference Center;
--Jan. 12, Memphis, Tenn., Marriott Hotel (2625 Thousand Oaks Blvd.);
--Jan. 14, Starkville, MSU's Bost Center auditorium;
--Jan. 17, Monroe, La., Holiday Inn Holidome; and
--Jan. 19, Hattiesburg, Lake Terrace Convention Center.
