The 1999 Mississippi Water Resources Conference will be held April 7 and 8 at the Eagle Ridge Center in Raymond.

The Mississippi State University-based Water Resources Research Institute annually sponsors the information-sharing assembly of government, educational and private sector representatives. The district office of the U.S. Geological Survey, state Office of Land and Water and the Mississippi Water Resources Association are co-sponsors.

This year's program includes more than 50 speakers or session leaders. Marcelo P. Merino of the North American Coal Co. in Dallas, Texas, will deliver the keynote address at the 8:30 a.m. opening session on the 7th. The noon-1:30 p.m. luncheon that day features an address by Dan Ferry of the Tennessee Valley Authority's Office of Water and Hydro Projects.

State Department of Health and Office of Pollution Control employees attending the conference may be eligible for continuing education credits.

The Eagle Ridge Center, a part of Hinds Community College, is located approximately 10 miles west of Jackson on state Highway 18.
