Anisa Nuanes, a material science engineering student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, is visiting MSU as part of the Research Experiences for Undergraduates program funded by the National Science Foundation. At MSU's Institute for Imaging and Analytical Technologies, or I2AT, Nuanes is working closely with interim Associate Dean Giselle Thibaudeau to conduct "Structurally Responsive Materials Inspired by Nature," Nuanes' research project. Altogether, nine students from around the country are participating in REU, which ends Aug. 2.
