Mississippi State's Department of Physics and Astronomy hosted Physics Phun Night + Sidewalk Astronomy Wednesday to offer demonstrations aligned with the 2013 Maroon Edition "Physics for Future Presidents: The Science Behind the Headlines" by Richard A. Muller. Engineering doctoral candidate Jehan Seneviratne, of Sri Lanka, shows attendees the principles of pressure by lying on a bed of nails -- his body doesn't exert enough pressure on any single nail for it to break his skin.
