Students rehearse for the upcoming Theatre MSU production by Elizabeth Wong at the McComas Hall main stage. In the group's annual children's production, the mischievous Chinese superhero, the Monkey King, comes to life during an energetic and charming play where Chinese Opera and hip-hop collide. Between finding and losing a home and battling with a one-horned ogre, the Monkey King somersaults into the future on his adventures, where he encounters hip-hop music. With much dancing, battles and heroics, the Monkey King learns about leadership, responsibility and forgiveness. The public performance will take place Sunday, November 18, at 2 p.m., culminating a week of shows for local school children ages 3-12. Tickets are available online at www.comm.msstate.edu/dept/theatre/, or at the door.
