Mississippi State University and Starkville Area Habitat for Humanity volunteers and officials, including President Mark E. Keenum, fourth from the left, broke ground on the fourth annual Maroon Edition Habitat for Humanity project Friday morning. A service learning component of the university's Maroon Edition First-Year Reading Experience, this year's house is located at 276 Steadman Lane in Starkville and will benefit a local mother and her five children. Student and employee volunteers will work on the house every Friday and Saturday throughout the fall semester until completion. The university's Maroon Volunteer Center coordinates the volunteer efforts.
