Incoming freshman Morgan McKnight uses tweezers to "harvest" tiny Zerene cesonia caterpillars after they've emerged from their eggs.
McKnight is assisting biological sciences professor Brian Counterman research the genetic basis of the wing color patterns of the native species, which is also known as the Southern dogface butterfly.
