Middleton Hall, built in 1910 and a Mississippi Landmark Building, recently received a $3.1-million, state-appropriated renovation that includes 1,000 square feet of additional space. New interior walls, mechanical and electrical systems, and refurbished windows are just a few of the upgraded features for the structure. Home of the MSU Dairy Department for its first 30 years, the building then became the Student Activities Building until 1951. After that the Military Science Department shared the facility with the Famous Maroon Band until 1954. Military Science (Army ROTC) continues the occupancy today, along with the Aerospace Studies Department (Air Force ROTC). In the 1980s, it was named after General Troy H. Middleton, commander of the 45th Infantry Division in World War II.
