With summer just around the corner, MSU Facilities Management is installing three new fiberglass cooling towers that will be responsible for maintaining comfortable temperatures in more than 40 campus buildings. The older wooden towers had reached the end of their service life, and department staff launched a fast-track project for design, purchase, and installation of the more fuel efficient, environmentally friendly structures. The effort is another step in the university's sustainability efforts articulated and supported by MSU President Mark Keenum. A similar tower was part of the construction of the Mize Pavilion at Humphrey Coliseum.
